Your first session

What happens before, during and after

The first session lasts 60 minutes. None of this requires immigration papers.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before

We send you the fee in writing and a consent form to read at your own pace. If anything is unclear, ask us.

  2. 02

    Step 2: On arrival

The intake coordinator welcomes you, shows you the room and explains how the clinic works.

  3. 03

    Step 3: During

Your therapist explains how they work, what is confidential and the possible risks and benefits of therapy, and listens.

  4. 04

    Step 4: At the end

The two of you decide whether to continue. You can change therapists or stop whenever you like.

  5. 05

    Step 5: After

If something comes up between sessions, call us in office hours. For a crisis, 988; for an emergency, 911.

The waiting room

A bright hallway, and no hurry

You can arrive ten minutes early and wait quietly. If you prefer video, the session is the same and you choose where to connect.
